  19. You don't have to have SLIP or PPP connected in order to run Mail.  You can 
  20. read messages, write new once then connect to the internet in order to have 
  21. the qued up messages go out and to retrieve new once.  When you create 
  22. messages they go into the Outbox, then after you connect to the PPP server 
  23. (through Custom) you can select the messages in the Outbox and send them out.
  24. Also, at that time you can start the retrieval of new messages.
